DR. DEBORAH LARSON

As I location scouting for a web series, A Little Help,  I stumbled upon a new Event Center.  Entering the building a met owner Shawn Gott and manager Angelo Wannithantri.  Shawn happened to be an MSU Electronic Media major alum and was interested in helping us out as a casino location for the web series.  While shooting there, Shawn and Angelo both mentioned we should shoot a cooking competition.  319 Event Center had formerly been an open kitchen restaurant and they could create the kitchen setup for us.

The Media, Journalism and Film dept had the multi-camera field shooting capabilities.  Through a grant from the Faculty Center of Teaching and Learning, and matching funds from the College of Arts and Letters and the Media, Journalism & Film department, we were able to purchase enough lights and other equipment to create an on-location sound stage to create the Show Me Chefs set.  Each season we have added equipment and lights we need to make a better show.  With our community partners like 319 Event Center, Mama Jeans Natural Market & KOZL-TV we are now creating award winning local programming.
