Show-Me Chefs is a broadcast / webcast cooking competition television show produced in Springfield, Missouri by Missouri State University's Department of Media, Journalism & Film. The show features culinary talent from the Show-Me State. Each season, eight local chefs compete in pairs to move on to the next level of competition from quarter rounds to semi-finals to finale. Each chef competes in head-to-head competition, completing three rounds of dishes for our panel of judges to determine the overall winner of Show-Me Chefs. The show is a true community event. We highlight Missouri farmers who produce local meats, produce, spirits and other specialty items from food producers in the state. Mama Jean's Natural market provides the pantry for the chefs, and the season’s seven episodes are filmed at 319 Event Center located in Downtown Springfield. The show looks to highlight these businesses, emphasize the importance of local foods, and to strengthen their relationship with the community. The show also acts as a capstone broadcast television course for Media, Journalism and Film students at Missouri State University, where more than 50 students can practice their skills on a professional-level production. Season 3 of Show-Me Chefs begins in Fall 2017!
